I read this in the book, “Unlocking the Scriptures” by Hanz Finzel for school today in a chapter about how we apply Scripture to our lives.

“One story tells of several pastors arguing about which Bible translation was best. One man startled the group by saying, “My grandmother’s translation is the best I’ve ever read.”

“What,” his colleagues asked, “your grandmother translated the Bible?”

“Yes, she translated the Bible into her life, and it was the most powerful translation I’ve ever seen.”

They got the point!”

You may be the only Bible that someone reads.  Does your life add or take away from the words written in the Word of God?  Do you portray Christ in all that you do?  We are going to fail, we are going to mess up.  When Christ saves us, that does not make us perfect, we will not be perfect on this side of heaven, but, we are to do the best we can to shine our light to a lost and dying world.  It will not always be easy, but did God say His grace would give us all that we want, or that it would be sufficient?  God gives us what we need in order to follow Him.  God gives us His Word which is a lamp for our feet and a light for our path, He gives us full spiritual armor, including the shield of faith that will quench the fiery darts of the devil.  God gives us the Holy Spirit to give us peace, and to help us along the way.  God is always holding onto us, even when we don’t hold on tightly to Him.  God will guide us in the way we are to go, and He will help us to share His Word.  He will help us to speak when we ought to, and to say nothing when that is what is best.  He will help us translate the Bible into our own lives.  God’s Word is alive, it does not need us to bring it to life, rather, we are to be the hands and feet of Christ, so we should be the embodiment of the Living Word of God.  “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God – this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.  Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will” Romans 12:1-2.  God Bless!
