There are two ways that we can be overwhelmed, we can be glad or burdened. There are times we feel overwhelmed with whatever we may be dealing with which many experience. Then there are those times we are overwhelmed by God’s blessing. I want to share with you an experience of the latter of the two. As you all know I broke my arm a few weeks ago, on top of other things that are more important, that meant I won’t be shooting a bow for a while. Deer season in my area of Virginia starts the first Saturday of October, and I look forward to deer season every year. The doctor wasn’t sure if I would even get to hunt much with a bow, if at all, this year. Now, I enjoy hunting, I love being in God’s creation, but more than that we have been trying to film while we hunt in order to make videos and attach a gospel presentation or devotional to the video so that we could send the gospel out to more people. This year I would not be able to contribute much at all to the footage side of things, but, by God’s grace, my Dad was put in touch with a man, who like my Dad, I will call Mr. X as he wanted to remain anonymous. This individual went out of his way a hundred miles to help us out. Not only did he promise to give Dad a call back and come through on that promise, he called back in seven minutes with news that he would be able to make a donation of a crossbow to the ministry so that I could hunt this year and contribute footage along with Dad in order to make videos that will include devotionals. There may be people who watch the videos and are not Christians, they may just watch to see the hunting part of the video but end up hearing something that could end up changing their hearts. Now I didn’t learn about the crossbow until today, and I was just blown away that something like that would happen to me. It just shocked me that God would use a complete stranger to help us out that much, even though I know He can use whomever He chooses, it was just overwhelming that God would lay it on someone else’s heart to help us out. It was a feeling that words could not describe effectively. I know, that God allowed this to work out for a reason. There is no explanation for this to have happened outside of God causing it to happen. God put my Dad and Mr. X together on a phone call, God put it in Mr. X’s heart to donate to GOD’s Archers a tool that we can use to send God’s Word out more. To God be the glory. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28. God will bring good out of a situation for His Children. If He can do it for us, He can do it for you. We are no better than anyone else in this world, the only difference is we have been saved by grace through faith and are trying to grow more like Christ everyday. We are no better than our siblings in Christ, and I know, that if God would work something like this out, then He will do it again and again. He will give us whatever it is we need in order to share His Word. In order for me to be able to hunt this year, I need a crossbow, and God worked it out so that I will use it for His Glory, and there is nothing else I’d rather do. God Bless!
