“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14. Waiting on the Lord does not mean sitting idly by. We are to still continue to do our jobs that God has given us. What does it mean to wait on the Lord though? Well, it means to be patient. God’s timing is not ours, and so we must be patient and not try to rush things. It means we need to hope in the Lord, we wait on Him, we trust His guidance, not our own. It means we stay calm and do not get anxious when things do not go as we want them to in the moment we desire. While we wait, we can be using that time for prayer, constant prayer. We can be using that time for study, for making disciples, all of the things we should be doing anyway. When we wait on the Lord, that does not mean to cease all actions, it means, at least in my opinion, to keep our faith in Him. It means to remain steadfast when we don’t know what is going to happen, and to know that He is still God. He is God in the good times and bad, no matter what, He is on the throne and has a wonderful, terrific plan for our lives. His plan may not move at the speed we want it to, but it will move at the speed He wants it to. We need to observe what is around us while we wait on the Lord. God gives us opportunities to learn and grow in all things, including the wait. God Bless!
