Forgiveness

"Then David said to Nathan, "I have sinned against the LORD."  Nathan replied, "The LORD has taken away your sin.  You are not going to die."  2 Samuel 12:13 NIV.  There are many Christians who believe that one can lose salvation.  I don't and this verse is one of the reasons why.  David had an affair with a man's wife, then had the man killed, and then took the woman as his own wife.  Surely, if God would reject someone who followed Him because the follower made a mistake it would have been David.  Yet, God forgave David, even though David [...]

The Seas

2020-07-03T02:12:57+00:00

"The seas have lifted up, LORD, the seas have lifted up their voice; the seas have lifted up their pounding waves."  Psalm 93:3.  I heard someone say or read something a while back that said, "The river is music to those who listen."  To hear the running water of a river, or to stand back and take in the beautiful sounds of the ocean's waves is an awesome experience.  These sounds are of God's creation praising Him.  To listen to the wind blow through the woods is also beautiful.  God's creation praises Him, and not only by sound, but all of [...]

Last Chance

2020-07-02T03:17:06+00:00

We went fishing this evening and I caught this little guy.  This was the second lake we had went to and this was on my first cast right at last light.  I didn't have hardly any time to catch a fish after that one because the light was getting too low.  There are many people out there who want to wait until their last chance to accept Christ.  They believe that Christians can't have fun and so they want to live their life and get saved when they get older.  The thing is, we don't know what the future holds.  I [...]

Pray For

2020-07-01T02:44:16+00:00

I was driving back to the house today and at a red light there was a car in front of us that had a torn bumper sticker.  What remained of the sticker said, "Pray for" and that was it, the rest had torn off or something had happened to it.  Today there are so many things to pray for.  There are so many things going on, so many people that need peace and that need hope.  There are people that need healing, people that need a way out.  There are people dealing with what most consider minor things, but, to certain [...]

A Tangled Rope

2020-06-30T03:01:27+00:00

Rope is very useful for various things.  It can be used for hanging up plants to dry, it can be used for pulling many different things.  One thing that rope can have a tendency to do is get tangled up in itself, or at least it does for me anyway.  Rope can just look at me and get tangled up in a hundred knots that all start with just one or two little slip-knots.  People are similar.  God wants to be able to use us for His will and glory.  However, we are not perfect, we mess up.  When we sin [...]

Speaking Up

2020-06-29T02:56:29+00:00

When I got up this morning I saw that someone had sent a message to GOD's Archers.  I clicked on the message and read it, all it said was, "Jesus Christ is my Saviour"  no more and no less.  To be honest, the message caught me off guard, but it was a good surprise.  A very good surprise.  I thought about how to reply all morning, and then this afternoon I responded.  I thanked the man for sending me that message, and I asked him to send that same message to a few other people.  I told him that I would [...]

When you just don’t know

2020-06-28T02:21:47+00:00

"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."  Isaiah 30:21.  Sometimes we get into a situation where we don't know what to say, or we don't know what to do.  These situations seem difficult, but if we will trust in the Lord, He will provide the solution or the words to speak.  We can rely on God's Word to guide us in the way we should go, and by prayer we can also find a solution.  I recall one time when I found [...]

Let it go

2020-06-27T02:15:15+00:00

I'm sure you've heard someone say, "I wish I could let it go" or, "Why can't I just give it to God?"  We as humans have trouble letting things go.  We like to be able to hold onto things thinking that maybe we can control the outcome on our own, and often times we can't.  We have to learn to give our problems to God.  It isn't always easy, and God never said it would be.  We have to learn this through experience, through time in His Word and in prayer.  This is not a skill that just appears out of [...]

The Gospel Message

2020-06-25T02:15:59+00:00

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."  John 3:16 KJV.  We all sin and we deserve punishment for our sin.  Our due punishment is death in hell, and God will see that justice is served, that sin is punished.  God does not want to punish us, so He showed us mercy, He gave His Son to pay our sin debt.  Jesus came and lived a life without sinning, and then died in our place.  He did not deserve to die, but He died [...]

Days of Noah

2020-06-24T02:34:41+00:00

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."  Matthew 24:37.  The Bible goes on to talk about that it would be business as normal in the next verse.  That there would be marriage and feasting, and various things.  In the days of Noah, there was also great sinfulness.  It broke God's heart at the amount of sinfulness that was present during the days of Noah, so much so that He even regretted making mankind.  So when we see the phrase, "as the days of Noah were" we know that it means [...]
