“May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” Galatians 6:14. I could boast about archery, I compete anywhere from locally to nationally, I’ve got a state championship and several very wonderful sponsors, but will that get me to heaven? I could boast in my academics, I will graduate high school with two years of college experience, but will that save my soul? I could boast that I am a decent human being, I don’t murder, I don’t gamble, I don’t blackmail people, but will the things I haven’t done atone for the sin I have committed? The answer to all of this is, “no”. There is only one thing that can save a human’s soul from the eternal destiny in hell they deserve, and that is the Blood of Christ. Jesus is the Son of God, who came down from heaven, lived a sinless, righteous life, yet died in a criminal’s place. God sent His Son to die, Jesus was beaten, He was flogged, and then He had to carry His cross over a mile, then be nailed to that cross and hang there for six hours. He endured that punishment for you and I, and then on the third day He rose back to life with the keys of death and hell. It is by His death and resurrection that we can be saved, not by any works lest we should boast, which would take away glory from God. The Blood of Christ is the antidote for our condition of sin, and the way we receive this antidote is by confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, ask God to forgive you and save you, and believe in your heart that God raised Christ from the dead. It is that simple, God did not make it hard. God wants people to come to Him, it is not His will for any to die and go to hell. He wants all people to come to heaven. God Loves you, and He is ready to forgive your sin. When we look at things in light of eternity, our good deeds, our achievements, they are nothing to boast about. Yet, Christ is someone to boast about. He loves us when we don’t deserve it, He made a way for us to be saved from hell and ourselves. God gives us strength and peace to get us through any trial. He will make a way of escape from temptation. There are so many reasons to boast in God. God Bless!
