So tonight we are going to talk about the last part of the arrow, the nock. The nock is a simple plastic (sometimes aluminum) piece that holds the arrow to the string of the bow until the bow is fired and the arrow is released toward the target. Tonight I want to look at the fletching of the arrow. The fletching guides the arrow through flight, it steers the arrow towards its mark. It says in Psalm 119:105, "Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." God uses His Word to teach us the way we should live. He puts rules and guidelines in His Word for us to follow. The next part of the arrow is sort of two parts in one. The first one that I'll talk about tonight is the shaft of the arrow. So last night we talked about the tip of the arrow and the lesson that we normally give with that part of the arrow, tonight I want to talk about the insert. The insert for those who do not know is a metal piece glued into the shaft so that you can screw in a field point or broad head. It holds the tip securely in place.
