Following His lead

Election Day

2020-11-04T02:16:10+00:00

"He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others.  He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning."  Daniel 2:21.  Today we have seen another election day, and although we will not know the results as soon as we normally would due to some extended voting, we can still be confident in this, whichever candidate is elected, God has allowed for that person to be elected.  God raises up kings, and He removes kings.  We will see who it is that God will allow to be in office.  Tonight, I'm not going to talk about who [...]

Teachers

2020-11-03T03:55:17+00:00

"Why, LORD, do you stand far off?  Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?"  Psalm 10:1.  Sometimes we feel like God isn't there or He isn't listening, but this isn't the case.  God is not ignoring us, He does not abandon us, but, is a teacher not quiet during the test?  When you took a test in school, the teacher did not talk loudly, rather he or she was often quiet, and said little or nothing at all.  Sometimes during the test God wants to see what we will do when we face a trial.  He may want to [...]

The Wind

2020-11-02T03:36:49+00:00

"And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!"  And the wind ceased, and there was great calm."  Mark 4:39.  Winds can be strong, today at my house there were gusts strong enough that I thought two oak trees were going to fall.  Yet, even the most powerful winds have to obey the Word of God.  God is in control all the time, even when we feel like our world is falling apart around us.  God will bring good out of those times, He will help us to grow in those times.  Even when the [...]

Lighting the way

2020-11-01T02:36:10+00:00

I think I wrote a devotional like this not long ago, but, I was reminded of this principle earlier this evening.  When it comes to arrows, there are probably a thousand different nocks, but some companies make nocks that light up when you shoot them.  These are very good nocks to use when hunting, provided they are legal in your state.  These nocks help you to see where you hit the target, or if you are hunting where you hit the animal, as well as to help find the arrow after the shot.  Simply put they light up the way the [...]

The Times

2020-10-30T03:18:44+00:00

Hunters often check the weather to figure out the best time of day to hunt, whether morning or evening.  I know we personally check the daily and hourly temperatures.  We also check the barometric pressure and try to plan when and where we want to hunt based on our findings.  We try to keep up with the signs of good days to hunt and more than that, the best time of day.  As Christians, we also pay attention to the fact we are in the last days.  Based on what Christ has spoken, we are in the latter days.  Some people [...]

Voting

2020-10-29T02:09:32+00:00

In the past few days and weeks I've seen various hunters come out and give a message saying that we need to vote for the one who will protect hunting and conservation.  I've seen people come out and say we need to vote for the Bill of Rights.  There are all kinds of messages talking about who we should vote for.  I heard a Messianic Rabbi the other day, actually two I think, come out and say that above all else, we need to vote life.  I can't agree with them more.  We need to vote with the one who lines [...]

Green Pastures and Rocky Roads

2020-10-28T02:02:58+00:00

"He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters."  Psalm 23:2 NIV.  God will give us what we need, when we are stressed He will give us peace.  His strength is made perfect in our weakness.  He gives us grace that is sufficient for us to endure whatever may come our way.  When God leads us to those green pastures, He never promised that the path would be easy.  He promised that He would lead us and always be with us.  When he leads us beside those quiet waters, the banks may be rocky and steep [...]

Timing

2020-10-26T02:55:19+00:00

When working with compound bows, one thing you have to keep in check is the timing on the bow.  A compound bow has a string, and depending on what type of cam (the wheels on each end of the bow) it can have one or two cables, which can vary in type.  There are usually marks on the cams that line up with these cables called timing marks.  If the cable lines up, you're fine, if not, there's a problem.  On a compound bow, you need to make sure your cam timing is perfect, or else the whole system can be [...]

The Great Physician

2020-10-24T03:07:32+00:00

I want to thank you all again for praying for my arm.  My appointment today went great, and I'll share how it went later, but for now I want to ask you to pray for a good friend of mine.  He has been fighting one uphill battle after another and he has told me that he felt like Job in the Bible.  He messaged me a few days ago, and told me that he was going to have back surgery in four weeks, he would need pins and screws put in, and he would be out of commission for about three [...]

Rest Stops

2020-10-22T01:51:20+00:00

Rest stops are a handy thing.  When you've been on the road for hours and you need to just stretch your legs, get a water or soda, and just breathe for a minute before getting back into the vehicle, rest stops are very useful.  Those little pit stops can often be refreshing.  The Sabbath is similar.  God wants us to take just one day a week, and pause from our work for just a minute and breathe.  He wants us to spend a day in fellowship with Him.  He wants us to spend time in His Word, in prayer, and most [...]
