Re-read

One of the books I am reading for school right now is "Unlocking the Scriptures" by Hans Finzel, in the book he talked about that we will reread the things that affect us most.  For example, we will reread the news or love letters.  We will reread new laws and bills that may be passed.  I'm going to go down a little bit different path than Finzel did, but, I would like to ask you a question.  How often do you reread the Bible?  For instance, when you read a chapter, do you ever go back to reread that chapter or [...]

The Big Finale

2020-10-15T03:10:30+00:00

So I spent the last few days writing about the lessons that we use, and one thing I want to mention, is that no matter what lesson/gospel presentation you give, let the audience know that you are available to answer any questions they may have.  This shows that you care for your audience, and this increases the probability that they will take what you have shared with them to heart.  Jesus told us, "And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" Matthew 22:39.  When it comes to giving a lesson or gospel presentation in front of a group [...]

Tri Cities Christian School Fall Fest 2019

2020-10-13T02:34:23+00:00

I want to encourage you all to go check out the photos on our website, I just added a few photos from an event last year.  That was an awesome festival the school held, and because of how this year has played out, events have been limited so I just wanted to look back on some phenomenal times.  I probably shouldn't pick a favorite, but it was so cool to see the one gentleman in the blue shirt get to shoot a bow.  He hadn't been able to in over a year, and I'm thankful that he was able to that [...]

Leaves Changing

2020-10-05T02:45:22+00:00

Fall is my favorite time of year, and one reason is because the leaves change color.  When we see the leaves change to red, we can think of when Christ was on the cross shedding His red blood for us.  When the leaves are all gone, we can think of that as Christ's final breath.  Yet, when the tree begins to grow buds in the spring and those buds burst out we can think of when Christ rose again on the third day in victory over death and hell.  There are several other reasons why I love fall, but this one [...]

The Ten Lepers

2020-08-17T22:16:50+00:00

"One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice."  Luke 17:15.  There were ten lepers that Christ healed, but only one came back to praise Him.  We as Christians have been healed from sin, we are washed clean, redeemed, purified, we are made new in Christ and made a co-heir with Him.  We are adopted by God.  Yet how often do we stop to praise Him?  Let me ask a little bit deeper question, would you have been the one who came back to praise, or part of the other nine who went [...]

If That Ain’t God

2020-08-17T02:41:28+00:00

There are country singers that will occasionally do a gospel or Christian themed song and I enjoy listening to them when they do so.  Well, there was one who I had prayed for to start doing more Christian style music and probably a month or two months ago by now, he released a song called, "If That Ain't God".  The authors of the song requested for this artist to do their song, he gladly agreed and I believe that he said he was even honored to do the song.  In the song, it talks about a little boy who defeated cancer [...]

Goals

2020-08-16T03:14:22+00:00

It is good for people to have goals, it gives us something to work for and achieving that goal is a prize in and of itself.  One goal that I have is to lose weight and reach a certain amount by my birthday in a month or so.  I told Mom, "I need you to help me with this, to do what it takes to reach this amount of weight in that time." Often times our goals involve working with others.  It is good to have someone that can serve as an accountability partner.  Most of all, we have to rely [...]

Well Spoken

2020-08-15T02:09:15+00:00

"Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone."  Colossians 4:6.  I cannot stress it enough that you or I may be the only Bible someone reads, and that we must stay true to what the Bible actually says.  We need to live as we should, as actions often speak louder than words.  Yet, we need to make sure that we are speaking what is true.  Our words matter, and if we as Christians constantly put others down with our words then that will be a negative witness to someone [...]

Represent

2020-08-14T02:29:18+00:00

I am by no means a professional archer, but there are several companies that I shoot for that I represent.  I use their products and I promote those products in return for a reward.  As true Christians, we have received Christ into our lives.  This is a gift from God, not a reward for doing good deeds or works.  However, once we accept Christ into our life we begin to live for Him.  We are to represent Christ in all that we do, in that, we are to share His Love, we are to forgive as He forgave, we are to [...]

Greed

2020-08-13T02:55:20+00:00

"The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, "See if you can lure him into showing you the secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him so we may tie him up and subdue him.  Each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver."  Judges 16:5.  The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil as the Bible puts it.  Samson had fell in love with Delilah, but she did not truly love him.  When the rulers offered her a large reward to get Samson to reveal the source of [...]
