“Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:3. Jesus was with God in the beginning, He was there when everything was created. He took part in creating mankind. He was there creating life. As we move into the Christmas season, the most important thing to remember is that Jesus is the greatest gift that has ever been given. Jesus was with God creating life in the beginning, and when He came to live in human flesh, He was coming to give life again. We have all sinned, we have all broken God’s Laws. The wages of our sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Jesus (Romans 6:23). We deserve to go to hell, but God sent His Son, to take the punishment we deserve. Jesus came, He took the wages we earned, and He offers to us His righteousness. He died in our place on the cross, He rose again on the third day, and now He offers to each person the gift of life in heaven. He offers life with God the Father for eternity where there will be no pain, no suffering, and any tear that is cried, Jesus Himself will wipe it away. He created life in the beginning, and now Jesus offers both eternal life and life abundant all in the same gift. If we will confess that Jesus is Lord and Savior, ask God to save us and forgive us, and simply believe in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved. That is all we have to do, confess and believe. There are no physical actions that we must take to be saved. Jesus will give us life abundant, He did not say life that is easy, life that is comfortable, or life where everything goes your way. He promised life abundant, life where He will be with us always. Life here includes the ups and downs. Life here includes the storms just as it does the fair weather. Jesus will be with us in life here, and one day in heaven we will see Him face to face. Jesus gives us life abundant while on earth, and eternal life with the Father. This is the greatest gift one can receive as it truly is a gift that keeps on giving. God Bless!
