Today is Father’s day as you all know and I am very thankful for my father and grandfather. I couldn’t have asked for any better because I know that God gave me the family that He wanted me to have. I know that I am always loved and that I have always been taken care of. There are many people though that have not had a good father figure or any real type of father figure. This is why God says that He would be a father to the orphan, so that all people can have a loving Father spiritually even if they didn’t have one physically. God wants to be our heavenly Father, He sent His Son to take our punishment so that we could all come to Him. We are all orphans spiritually, we all lack a spiritual father as we are in chains bound to sin, until we find freedom in Christ. God wants to adopt us into His family and make us His children. This adoption came with a price and comes with a choice. Christ had to die to take our punishment, but He rose again on the third day so that we could have forgiveness and eternal life in Him, that is the price. The choice that this adoption brings is whether or not we will choose to accept God’s forgiveness and become His child. We can have forgiveness of our sins and go into heaven, or we can refuse forgiveness and bear the punishment of our sins in hell. That is the choice, and these are the only two options. The choice is completely and totally up to you, but I do want to remind you that God Loves you. Psalm 2:7 says, “I will proclaim the LORD’s decree: He said to me, “You are my son; today I have become your father.” God wants to be able to say that we are His children, and that He is our Father. He Loves us and does not want us to be punished for our sins. He wants to give us mercy. God Bless!
