I want to ask fellow believers in Christ a question.  What are you full of?  I’m being serious here, what are you full of?  Are you full of yourself, or are you filled with the Holy Spirit?  Are you arrogant or humble?  Many Christians struggle with being full of themselves instead of being filled with Christ.  There are some who appear to be more of a self-righteous theist than a true born again Christian.  This should not be something that is considered normal for Christians.  Christ calls us to be humble to others, to be forgiving, and to Love others as we do our very selves.  Paul made a statement one time that went, “You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew.  How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?” this statement is recorded in Galatians 2:14.  This statement was in response to the apostle Peter’s falling into peer pressure and he would only eat with Jewish Christians (in this case Jewish by birth) instead of eating with any Christian or any non-Christian for that matter.  This statement can also be applied to what we were just talking about.

If we who are Christians act in an arrogant manner instead of being thankful for what Christ has done for us and humble towards others, then why would others want what we proclaim to have?  If we have our noses stuck in the air towards people who are in sin, why would they want to know God and to know about Christ Whom we preach?  Rather, if we try to relate to others and if we are going to Love others as we should, then they may listen when we talk to them about Christ, and at the very least we may plant a seed in their lives for Christ’s sake.  Now, all people struggle with humility to an extent, but as Christians we have to ask God to help us be humble.  Now, praying for humility will be like praying for patience, God will help you to become more humble, but it will likely be hard.  However it will be one of the greatest virtues you could have for your relationship with God first and foremost, and then with your relationships toward others.  We need God to fill us up, we need to Love Him, and Love others as ourselves.  We need to focus more on Him than we do ourselves.  We don’t need to worry about ourselves, God will take care of us, we just need to take care to do what God would have us to do.  We need to follow His plan and not our own, filled with His Love, His Wisdom, and His mercy, and emptied of our pride.  God Bless!
