“but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”  Isaiah 40:31.  One of the key words in this verse to me is the word “renew”.  It doesn’t say that those who hope in the Lord will never be weak, it doesn’t say that they will never be tired, rather it says that those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  There will be times where it feels like we are weak, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  Paul said that he would boast all the more of his weakness so that the power of Christ would be with him.  Paul wrote that for Christ’s sake, he delighted in being weak, in being insulted, and in hard times.  When we can come to realize that even in the hard times, God’s grace will always be sufficient for us, even during the problems that persist.  When we come to that realization, that is when we can renew our strength in the Lord.  We have a hope in God that is unlike anything else.  We can know and have hope that He will get us through whatever fire or shadow of death we walk through, we have that hope, and because we put our hope in God, He will give us peace through His Holy Spirit.  He will give us strength, He will give us joy, so that even through the hard times we can stand for Him.  So that when the rain comes our light will not go out nor even flicker, it will shine brightly so that others may see the True Light living in us.  God Bless!
