“then hear from heaven, your dwelling place. Forgive and act; deal with everyone according to all they do, since you know their hearts (for you alone know every human heart),” 1 Kings 8:39. King Solomon, the wisest man to ever exist, knew this, that he could not know the heart of all people. God knows the heart of all people. He knows the intent of the heart in every move we make. It is good that God is our judge, because He knows the heart. When we act, someone may be aggravated with why or how we did something, but they do not know the intent of our heart. The opposite can happen, we may be angry over what someone else did, but we do not know their heart. God commands His children to love others, to forgive, and to follow the rules Christ gave us. We are to tell others about Him, but we are not to judge. Sometimes Christians can be the most critical people, taking the phrase, “to be about my Father’s business” to mean that they can judge, which just isn’t the case. Now, this is not all Christians of course, I would be willing to say that overall there are not that many Christians this way, but I want to warn those who do act that way, this behavior does not help the cause of Christ in any way. I’m not saying that I’m perfect, I’ve messed up too, but we have to keep our guard up to make sure we do not try to render verdicts in God’s place. However, we do have to call sin, sin, and righteousness, righteousness. We are to warn others about the dangers of sin, and we can do that without judging. Though there will be those who say that we are judging even when we are not, but God will give us the words we are to say to those people, if anything needs to be said in the situation at all. We just have to make sure that we don’t try to render a verdict about that person under our breath after the conversation is over. We have to be willing to follow God’s lead, that way, we do our job, and maybe, that person will see Christ in us and accept Christ as Savior before he or she has to face the Judge of all humanity. God Bless!
