I think I wrote a devotional like this not long ago, but, I was reminded of this principle earlier this evening. When it comes to arrows, there are probably a thousand different nocks, but some companies make nocks that light up when you shoot them. These are very good nocks to use when hunting, provided they are legal in your state. These nocks help you to see where you hit the target, or if you are hunting where you hit the animal, as well as to help find the arrow after the shot. Simply put they light up the way the arrow went. As Christians, as Children of God, we are called to shine our light. It says, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16. We are to let our light shine, so that when others see our good deeds they will glorify God. We are not saved by our good deeds, we are saved to do good deeds. We are saved from sin to serve God, and as He guides us on the path He set before us, we need to let our light shine. We need to light up the way for others, so that they too can accept Christ and begin to follow Him. We need to do this everyday, but we need to take extra care to do it on days like today which is Halloween. This is the day the Lord has made, but man has made it into a day to almost worship Satan. We need to make sure that whatever activities that we do are things that will glorify God, and not diminish our witness. God Bless!
