I am by no means a professional archer, but there are several companies that I shoot for that I represent. I use their products and I promote those products in return for a reward. As true Christians, we have received Christ into our lives. This is a gift from God, not a reward for doing good deeds or works. However, once we accept Christ into our life we begin to live for Him. We are to represent Christ in all that we do, in that, we are to share His Love, we are to forgive as He forgave, we are to be merciful, compassionate, and we are to use wisdom that God will give us. We are to serve God with all that we do, and we are to serve others and live as Christ commanded us so that others will see Christ in us, and give glory to God. If we will be humble and live for God, then we will receive a reward from Him in heaven. God has already given us the gift of salvation, and He wants us to now live for Him so that He can receive glory and reward us later on. God Loves us, as our Father, He wants to be able to reward us for doing good. God wants us to represent Him well, and He will reward us for that. Yet, as His children, we should serve God because we Love Him, not just to get a reward. The reward God will give will be better than we can imagine, but we should serve God because we want to. We should want to make our Father happy, we should want to make Him proud. That is what our goal should be. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.” Colossians 3:23-24.
