“Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14. In the today’s American society we often times want everything on our timing. When we are expecting an email, we want it to come through instantly. We want our phone to ring when we expect it to, not after. There is a local fast food chain whose slogan is, “Great Food in a Flash”. We want everything to go our way, and we often try to rush things. I am guilty of this myself. Sometimes I go past the planning stage/preparing stage and go into that phase where I just want God to tell me what’s next, instead of waiting for Him to tell me. Instead of simply trying to do the job He has given me and preparing for what may lie ahead on His path for me I try to rush Him. We have to learn patience. God will help us with this. We are on a need to know basis with God, He knows it all, and when we need to know it, He will let us know. God knows what is best and He acts on it, even when it comes to His timing. We have to learn to wait on the Lord, we have to stay strong in Him and take heart. We cannot lose heart or get down when God doesn’t show us something when we want Him to. Rather, we should be glad that God is trying to teach us patience and He is trying to help us grow while we wait. Now, waiting on the Lord does not mean lazily lying around, we are to continue on the job He has given us to do. We are to continue to lift His name high because He is worthy. I know it can be hard to wait on the Lord, but it is better to wait on the Lord and follow the path He prepares for us than to try to clear our own way. God Bless!
