I like to listen to songs that thank veterans or various military songs on occasion.  I found one this past 4th of July that was called “Welcome Home” the person that posted was unable to find the author of the song nor did the person know the official title.  It was an absolutely beautiful song.  I don’t know if I’m allowed to do this, but the following is the chorus of that song,

“Welcome home, Welcome home, it’s good to have you back where you belong

You fought hard for this land you love and I thank you for all of us

We’re proud to call you one of our own, welcome home”.

Needless to say it got me thinking.  When we get to heaven, what kind of welcome will we receive?  Will we hear our Father say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant,”?  Will we make our Father proud?  Who wouldn’t want to make Him proud?  Will we have fought the good fight for that land we love?  Will we make any difference in the lives of others by proclaiming Christ and letting our light shine, or will we keep it under a bushel and all to ourselves?   Time is so short, and as Christians we have to be doing all that we can for Christ Jesus’ sake.  We have to serve the good Lord above.  Jesus died loving all sinners and rose again so that all could have life in Him.  How can we live with Christ in us not caring where someone will go when they die?  I know that I make mistakes everyday, I know that I sin and do things that don’t make my Father proud.  Yet, when it is all said and done, I want my life as a whole to have made God proud.  I don’t want to let a day go by without fighting the good fight for that land I love and long to see.  I want all the saints to be able to say, especially my great-grandparents, “welcome home, we’re proud to call you one of our own.”  I want to be able to make my Savior proud.  I couldn’t have earned salvation on my own, but He paid my way to heaven.  I want Him to be proud to call me one of His own.  “His lord said unto him, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”  Matthew 25:21 KJV.  GOD Bless!
