A lot of people have a tendency to say that unless God does what you ask when you ask or soon thereafter, then He did not answer your prayer. For instance if Joe prayed for a raise to be able to do what he believed God wanted him to do, but that raise did not come for a while, then somebody might say that God didn’t answer Joe’s prayer. This is not the case, God could have wanted to provide a different way and so His answer to Joe was “no” to the raise. Or, God’s answer to Joe could have been, “not yet”. I believe that sometimes God will reveal to us what He wants us to do, but He may do it in advance so that you can prepare by praying and studying His Word more. God could want to provide the financial means for Joe to accomplish the task God wanted him to do by giving Joe a raise at work, but wait to provide the raise at the right time, to make sure that Joe was ready. God could be helping Joe to become more patient by making Joe wait, or God could have been waiting for Joe to trust Him even when the raise did not come when he expected it to. God will give you an answer to prayer, and He may not tell or reveal His answer for a while, but He will not ignore His children. It may seem as though God is not listening sometimes, but it is in those moments we can be reminded to wait on the Lord. He will give you the answer, it may be no, it may be yes, or it could be yes but not yet. Often times we have to wait to figure it out because our timing is not usually the same as God’s timing. Often times we try to rush things, whereas God waits for when the moment is right. His timing is perfect, and He will provide what we need when He knows the moment is right so that His people can be encouraged, His Kingdom added to, and so that His Name will be lifted higher. “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31 NIV. God Bless!
